My beloved Lizteners,
I am ecstatic to be back in the city that truly never sleeps (I’ve got construction workers outside my dorm drilling at 3 am on a Sunday morning so trust me on this NYC fact). Anyways, with school being back in full swing (and my workload heavily increasing as I’m approaching my senior year of college), and I’m trying to balance my social life with interning at Coveteur, working out and immersing myself into my passion project aka Liztening, it always takes me a few weeks to get accustomed again to this fast-paced environment that New York City embodies (especially after being back home in Luxembourg for a month, which btw couldn’t be a more 180° from this). Despite many questioning the hectic, non-stop, #dailygrind – lifestyle I’ve adopted in NYC, I couldn’t be more satisfied with the opportunities that I’ve been exposed to and the successes I was able to celebrate. For over two and a half years of living in the capital of the Empire State, I’ve managed to pursue my dreams and goals and learned to never let anyone deter me from my accomplishments (but I’m far from being done y’all). And for that reason alone, NYC will forever hold a special place in my heart hence I like to consider it my home away from home.
Speaking of my home away from home, my dear friend Fanny (@fannyprum) is back in NYC so we did the obvious on a Sunday in the city: Went to brunch at the Butcher’s Daughter (it’s vegan but serves eggs) and wandered the West Village and ended up in every fashion person’s favorite quarter: yes you guessed it; in Soho. Although it was sunny out, it was below 10°C combined with a freezing breeze, which meant: layering, layering and uhhmm yess, more layering to stay warm. I kept the base of my outfit very structural with some fitted clothing and thick fabrics which added depth to my look. I then topped it off with what I call my big bird jacket and called it a day. I love how despite it being fake fur, it looks super stylish and prevents me from freezing my behind away π As there were some baby blue details in my jacket, I decided to bring those out with my favorite little gem of all bags (and you know it was good when the sales associate at the Apple Store even compliments you on it lol). Lastly, I wore my round sunnies and some statement ring cause it ain’t a Liz fit without some hand candy.
A big thank you again to Fanny for taking all of these amazing shots!! ♥
Oh and if you’re in the US: Happy President’s Day!!
