Glitter Glitter on the Wall

Glitter Glitter on the Wall

Halli Hallo my lovely Lizteners!!

THANK YOU for being so consistently supportive and patient! I hope this post will make up for my lack of presence in the past few weeks, but my schedule has just been absolutely INSANE: From getting back into the rhythm of being a junior in college and starting a new internship in the city to hitting up events and shows during NYFW, all while maintaining a somewhat social life and working out, I felt like a marionette to say the least. BUT that was exactly the time I needed to figure out where I wanted to take Liztening and I hope you’re just as excited to hear about the upcoming posts and news in the coming weeks, as I am to share them with you all. I do feel like we’re one big family so let’s elevate this blog to the next level. After all, I have to credit you all for its success so far and for that I wanted to simply thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

ANYWAYS, you clearly can’t leave me alone at 1AM with a keyboard clearly since I’ll just go on and on without hitting the point of this post in the first place so let’s get into it, shall we? Alright, this was a fun little shoot I did last week with my friends Claire and Sydney who also happen to go to FIT (yet another reason as to why it’s the best school ever haha). Sydney (@sydneymcmackin) transformed me into 3 different glitter maniacs (just a quick reminder that glitter is not sth you should play around with. No seriously, you’ll regret it.. trust me since you’ll have glitter in places you never thought you could ever have glitter, but then again who doesn’t wanna relive their post-kindergarten playdates and dress-up sessions) while Claire (@clairesantoro) managed to capture beautiful images due to her artistic eye.

It’s not a Liz post if there’s not some message behind it so here we go, your daily Mantra by yours truly.

For some of the looks I wasn’t wearing any makeup other than vaseline and glitter, which got me thinking: Did it make me feel more vulnerable in front of the camera? 8, 5 or even 2 years ago, definitely, but as I’ve grown older, I’m slowly growing into the person I am proud to be and I’ve learned to appreciate the skin I’m in, imperfections and all. Do I encourage you all to do the same? Absolutely!! Alrighty, I’ll shut up for now cause I’ve bombarded you enough with my words and I’ll simply leave you with this quote I found by Scott Peck (for more brainfood btw, click here):

“Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time.

Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it. ”

Special thanks to Sydney for being an amazing friend and kicking ass as a MUA and many thanks to Claire for having me model for your project and for having such a creative eye! Make sure to check both of these awesome girls out on their Instas and give them a shout from moi:
