Unapologetic

Unapologetic

Happy Sunday my loves,

As the year is progressing and I’m thinking to myself of where I want this blog to go, I was considering to branch out into other categories of interest to me. After all, this is supposed to be a creative outlet for me to share with all of you beautiful people what I’m up to, what I want to achieve and spread the overall message of feeling good in your own skin. So believe it or not, this is actually my very first post in the ‘beauty’ category. And don’t think I’m going to start posting makeup tutorials on here or share with you my top 5 lipsticks from MAC, instead I’d rather talk about something that is often overlooked, namely inner beauty. In today’s world that has been overtaken by the image we’re portraying of ourselves on let’s say social media for instance, we tend to focus more on what we look out from the outside as opposed to who we truly are on the inside. And don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with feeling yourself and putting on an outfit that makes you feel like you’re worth 1 million bucks or having your eyebrows on fleek (Is anyone even still using that saying? lol), but it is just as important to take care of the person inside of that beautiful dress and those perfectly shaped eyebrows. We’re constantly aiming for physical perfection, the media is telling us how we’re supposed to look and how we’re supposed to come off as, but eventually, as sad as it may sound, all of that will fade and you’re stuck with your character, your charisma and your confidence. Do you know and accept who you are? Are you comfortable in your own skin? If not, work on it. Become the person you’ve always wanted to be. Treat others the way you want to be treated. And as Ellen always says: ‘Be kind to one another.’

Even though I post pictures of myself on here for the entire world to see, does not mean that I have all the confidence in the world. It does not make me arrogant or full of myself either. I’m not perfect, but I’m constantly trying to improve and become the best possible version of myself and I make sure to surround myself with an environment that will help me get there. Practice makes perfect guys. If the route to success was easy, then everybody would be at the top. Before I end here, I just quickly wanted to give a shout out to my friend Nike (@bycosmasia) for taking these beautiful pictures and showing off her amazing artistic makeup skills. She is the perfect example of an individual who’s beautiful inside and out and I hope to be sharing more examples like her in the future with you all.

Love always,

xx – Liz
