Good day Lizteners,
Almost five weeks have passed, which means that I am slowly getting ready to head back to Manhattan. Even though I am a little sad that this travel-packed Christmas break is coming to an end, I am looking forward to going back to my favorite city in the world. Before heading back to the Big Apple however, I wanted to share with you my latest travels to the Big Easy aka New Orleans. The capital of Louisiana was actually founded in 1718 by the French as Nouvelle-Orléans, which now translates to New Orleans. It is a city packed with its voodoo history, Jazz and Blues musicians and whole lot of friendly, life-loving people. And I mean I thought people in New York were super nice. Well, I was wrong, because literally everyone you walked by would either smile at you or wish you a good day and how can that not be contagious right? Besides that, our two-day trip was all about discovering what New Orleans had to offer. We strolled down Magazine Street, visited the French Quarter, which reminded me a lot of the narrow streets in Paris and we visited the WWII museum, which was very well put together and if you’re as fascinated about the history behind the 1939-1945 War as I am, then I would strongly suggest you go there. What’s also great about this city is that it’s becoming more and more ‘young’ and a lot of celebrities such as Beyoncé and Jay-Z have actually bought property there. This mix of youthfulness with the old history of the city really came through wherever you were, which was quite refreshing.
I’m gonna stop talking now and let you enjoy the pictures we took on this trip. I’ll see y’all (I have to take advantage of saying this as long as I’m in the South guys so excuse me) back in NYC!
Have a good rest of your day!
Love – Liz
